Capone Jones Runs for Four TDs as Clairton Advances over OLSH

MOON, Pa. — Capone Jones rushed for four touchdowns as Clairton avenged their Week 2 loss to OLSH, defeating the Chargers by the score of 45-19 in a WPIAL Class-A first-round playoff matchup on Friday night at Moon Area High School.

On OLSH’s first drive of the game, Nehemiah Azeem connected on a nine-yard touchdown pass to Ziggy McIntosh. The drive featured six penalties between both teams.

Clairton answered back on their next possession with quarterback Jones scored on a four-yard touchdown keeper to cut the lead down to one after a blocked extra point attempt. The drive was aided by a 40-yard run by Donte Wright and a facemask penalty by OLSH.

OLSH led Clairton 7-6 after the first quarter, a period which featured lots of penalties and sloppy play.

In the second quarter, Jones scored on a 70-yard touchdown run to give Clairton the lead of 12-7. The run attempt on the two-point conversion failed.

Clairton scored again on their next possession when Drahcir Jones scored on a 40-yard touchdown run to put the Bears up 18-7 after the two-point attempt failed.

OLSH answered back on a 70-yard pass from Azeem to Dorrien Tate Jr. to make the score 18-13 after a two-point conversion attempt was intercepted.

Clairton led OLSH 18-13 at halftime of a first half filled with penalties, missed opportunities, and overall sloppy play from both teams.
On their first drive of the second half Jones scored his third touchdown of the game to put Clairton up 24-13 after the two-point conversion failed. The Bears repeatedly ran the ball between the tackles.

Clairton scored again on their next drive when Donte Wright scored on a 15-yard touchdown run to put the Bears up 30-13 late in the third quarter, where they were the team to clean up their penalties and mental mistakes.

Clairton led OLSH 30-13 at the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Jones rushed for his fourth touchdown of the game on a 50-yard keeper to make the score 37-12.

OLSH got back on the board when Jayvaughn Moore scored on a 65-yard touchdown run to cut the lead to 37-19.

Clairton got on the board one more time when Michael Wright scored on a one-yard run and he also converted a two-point conversion to conclude the night’s scoring.

Clairton will move on to play at Bishop Canevin next Friday night.
