The Pitt wide receiver depth chart has experienced some turnover over the last few weeks.
First, sophomore Jaden Bradley made the decision to transfer mid-way through the season. Then, 2023 three-star recruit Daidren Zipperer decided to de-commit just a few weeks after joining Pat Narduzzi’s program. Since then, Zipperer has committed to Utah.
It’s also likely that at least one receiver on the 2022 roster will decide to move on following the season.
Despite having three wide receiver commitments in their Class of 2023, Pitt is looking to add more playmakers to join Frank Cignetti’s offense.
On Monday night, the Panthers offered a senior wide receiver that has a similar frame as Bradley, who would add some much-needed size.
Archie Collins extended an offer to 2023 3-star wide receiver Ardell Banks from Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio. Banks is 6-foot-4, 185-pounds and holds offers from Kentucky, Cincinnati, Toledo, South Florida, Miami (OH), Marshall, Kent State and Akron.
Pittsburgh Sports Now caught up with Banks, who gave us his reaction to his second Power Fiver offer.
“Coach Collins called me Monday night after getting the go on offering me from Coach Narduzzi,” said Banks. “They said they love my size, speed and ability to track the ball and all my natural talents.”

“I was shocked and speechless because being a good athlete is one thing, but when you get offers from top schools, it’s a game changer.”
Banks is obviously excited with the offer from Pitt but did not want to say where this offer ranks with him.
“Honestly, from what I’ve heard, Pitt is a great program, but I can’t fully answer that question until I take a visit there.”
