Brennan Armstrong threw for 489 yards and three touchdowns against Pitt last season at what-was-then Heinz Field.
His first two passes at Scott Stadium this season? Both returned for touchdowns.
M.J. Devonshire jumped Armstrong’s route on his first pass attempt of the game, racing 29 yards for a touchdown. Marquis Williams undercut his second pass attempt of the game, racing back 39 yards for a touchdown.
Coincidentally, it’s the second interception — and second pick-six — for both Devonshire and Williams this season.
Devonshire, of course, scored the game-winning touchdown on an interception return in the fourth quarter of the season opener against West Virginia. Williams returned his first interception for a touchdown against Western Michigan.
Pitt leads Virginia 21-0, forcing a punt on the Cavaliers’ second possession, and Israel Abanikanda punched into the end zone on the first offensive possession.
On to Duke.
