As the Pitt basketball season starts up, Pittsburgh Sports Now continues to profile each player on the team in the All 14 series.
PSN continues down the line with one of the Spanish twins:
JORGE DIAZ-GRAHAM
Hometown: Canary Islands, Spain
Height, Weight: 6’11, 190 LBs
Position: Guard/Forward
Number: 31
Year: Freshman
Previous years: Diaz-Graham played a prep year for IMG Academy last season before committing, enrolling, and recently playing his first game for Pitt. While at IMG, Jorge received a four-star ranking from On3 and was ranked as the No. 81 player in the class of 2022. In his lone season in Florida, Jorge averaged more than 15 points and five rebounds per game while shooting 44% from three-point range.
The storyline: JDG committed to Pitt alongside his twin brother, Guillermo, back on May 4, late in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Jorge, who head coach Jeff Capel describes as a guard, is a versatile prospect who has a chance to form into a real weapon on the outside for Pitt over the next few years. His brother, ‘G,’ is more of an inside threat. Through two games, Jorge has played ten minutes and has contributed two points, sinking both of his free-throw attempts against West Virginia.
