PSN Bowl Projections: Empire State of Mind for Pitt?

Published

on

College Football Playoff Committee

Chaos is coming within the final two weeks of the regular college football season.

Pitt will not be heading back to the ACC Championship Game, but the Panthers should find themselves in a quality bowl game nonetheless

For Pitt and the ACC, it’s going to come down to a showdown in Charlotte between UNC and Clemson that will have major ramifications for the conference and the bowls its affiliated with.

Each week I’m going to take a shot at projecting who will go to each bowl. For simplicity, I’ve projected the CFP Semifinals and National Championship, New Year’s Six bowls as well as bowls the ACC is eligible for.

PITT vs. Coastal Carolina would be refreshing. Perhaps our OC would get a first hand view of a contemporary Offensive Scheme using a Dual Threat QB. Their offset I-back Speed Option approach lends well to our RB, Daniel Carter at FB, Gavin TE, and Yes Nick Patti at QB.

Remember the OC takes his cue from the HC. The last two games indicate a change of the state of mind of the HC. Not seismic but not glacial either. Let’s watch Saturday for more.

terrible matchup if Coastal is the opponent. pitt typically struggles defending that type of offense. Not sure Coastal would stop their running game so would be entertaining to watch. 48-45 final?

Too early to tell. Pitt vs East Carolina in the Liberty Bowl would be my pick, as I see a even match in many ways, however; The Pinstripe Bowl would be dandy for the Panthers as well.H2P

Been there; done that. Sight lines were terrible for football. Expensive and friggin cold. Hope it isn’t the destination. Same with Boston.

according to these predictions for all the teams looks like you have Pitt losing their last two games?

Pitt in the Who Really Cares Bowl would be my guess. So much talent on this team wasted by inept coaching and bad QB play
