Pittsburgh — Pitt men’s basketball guard Jamarius Burton has been ruled out for tonight’s game against Alabama State due to right knee inflammation. It’s unknown when Burton suffered the injury, as he played in 36 minutes in the team’s last game against VCU.

Burton has started 30 games since he transferred to Pitt from Texas Tech prior to the start of last season. In four games of work this year, he’s averaged 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. All three are up from his averages last season.

Pitt takes on Alabama State at 2:00 p.m. today at the Petersen Events Center. They currently are on a three-game losing streak.
