On Wednesday, Robert Morris football head coach Bernard Clark Jr. was named to the 2022 Orange Bowl Hall of Fame class alongside Dewey Selmon (Oklahoma) and Grant Wistrom (Nebraska).
During his time with the University of Miami, Clark appeared in two Orange Bowl games, helping the Hurricanes win the matchup in consecutive seasons.

In 1988 as a junior, Clark played a big role in Miami’s takedown of No. 1 Oklahoma, 20-14. Clark earned Most Valuable Player honors after posting a team-high 14 total tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass break up and a fumble recovery.
A year later, Miami once again competed in the Orange Bowl, this time defeating No. 6 Nebraska 23-3. Clark was a part of another solid Hurricane’s defense that limited a top-ranked Huskers’ rush offense to three points and just 80 yards on the ground.
Along with two Orange Bowl appearances, Clark was also a two-time national champion with the program in 1987 and 1989.
Clark will be honored at the annual AvMed Orange Bowl Coaches Luncheon presented by AutoNation on Thursday, Dec. 29, in Miami, Fla. Then, the Hall of Fame members will be recognized in an on-field ceremony at the 89th Capital One Orange Bowl on Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at Hard Rock Stadium.
