Pitt will be without its second-leading scorer on Saturday afternoon against Sacred Heart as the program announced that Jamarius Burton will miss the game due to knee inflammation.
Burton is averaging a career-high 15.1 points per game this season for the Panthers, along with 5.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists. He is shooting 37% from three-point range along with 59% from the field.
Burton has missed one game this season (against Alabama State) which was also due to knee inflammation. The graduate senior had surgery last season in October for his knee, sidelining him for 4-6 weeks early in the 2021-22 season.
The Panthers will tip off against SHU at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
