Pitt’s John Hugley Out for North Florida Game due to Personal Reasons

PITTSBURGH — Just ahead of Saturday’s game against North Florida, Pitt announced that forward John Hugley will not play due to personal reasons.

Hugley has started six games for the Panthers this season, and has averaged just over 18 minutes per contest this year. He is scoring eight points per game on average so far.

Hugley suffered a knee injury just before the season which held him out for the first few games. Since returning, he has struggled to reach the production that he posted last season. Pitt did not explain any further other than “personal reasons” for his absence Saturday.

Watching him play this year has been rough. He is out of shape and a liability defensively. Something is very wrong. Hopefully whatever it is gets worked out for him.

That is basically what he was last year with more scoring and rebounding.

Please! Whatever it is, we all need to have John Hugleys back. He is by far the best recruit we have had in many years. If this program is going to turn around…he is the centerpiece. He will be back! We need his back!!!
