2023 3-Star Wide Receiver Zion Fowler Re-Commits To Pitt

When a player de-commits from a program, rarely does it result in him going back to his original commitment, but it happened today.

2023 three-star wide receiver Zion Fowler is once again a member of Pitt’s Class of 2023. The product of St. Peters Prep in Jersey City, New Jersey originally committed to the Panthers back on Oct. 26, 2021, becoming the first recruit in their Class of 2023. However, on Nov. 18, Fowler decided to re-open his recruitment.

Fowler gave us this reason in November for de-committing and part of it had to do with Pitt losing 4-star quarterback commit Kenny Minchey.

“It was a lot that led up to my decommitment,” said Fowler. “Obviously, Kenny (Minchey) decommitting iced the cake but it was a couple of things that I’m not going to speak on. But it’s not hatred or love lost between me and any of the coaches. I just need to step back and make the right decision for me and my family. This was a very difficult decision especially since I’ve been committed for over a year. I feel as though Pitt was a family to me and we grew so close through the year, so making this decision was very difficult. I will, of course, still keep Pitt in mind and me and the coaches have spoken about that already”

Fowler kept his word and indeed kept Pitt in mind as he issued this statement about rejoining Pat Narduzzi’s program.

“After reflection and thought, I have decided that the University of Pittsburgh is, and has always been, the best place for me. I want to thank all of the Pitt coaches for believing in me throughout this process and giving me a tremendous opportunity to represent a great program,” said Fowler.

Fowler is the 18th member of Pitt’s Class of 2023 and the fourth wide receiver.

3-star Zion Fowler (6-foot-1, 185 pounds) from Jersey City, New Jersey.
3-star Israel Polk (6-foot-2, 170 pounds) from Bellflower, California.
3-star Lamar Seymore (6-foot, 185 pounds) from Miami, Florida.
3-star Kenny Johnson (6-foot-1, 185 pounds) from York, Pennsylvania.

Tomorrow we will find out if all four of these wide outs end up signing, but this won’t be the end of Pitt recruiting wide receivers. PSN believes that Pitt will still add at least one wide receiver via the transfer portal.

They tried to get Todd Hodne to replace Fowler, but he had other plans.

duzz would have just had him do a few hard workouts with Dayon and the strength coach as his punishment then play next week.

Comparing apples to oranges. Hodne was a convicted rapist and Hayes charges were dropped and had nothing to do with rape. Rape is PSUs favorite four letter word. Way to deflect there buddy.

charges weren’t dropped, he pled guilty to summary harassment. Nothing to do with rape, he just assaulted the mother of his kid, but don’t worry duzz will just have him squat a bit heavier with the strength coach.
I’m not deflecting, for some reason you brought up a player from the 70’s.
pitt can’t recruit, they just hope a transfer comes in and band-aids their issue. When that is brought up you deflect to rape charges. Weird.

What is weird is a guy that is a PSU fan commenting on a Pitt fan site. With all the great PSU recruits why don’t they win more. Why worry about Pitt and spend you time here. Makes no sense.

Not weird at all. PSU should have received a permanent death penalty. That shandy town and crap school should have been left to die and made a ghost town. You come here to take a dump on the program. Gets old. Meanwhile Michigan and OSU validates yearly why PSU is not any better than Pitt.

Wonder why these kids turn into world class narcissists? Maybe burying them with breathless attention every time they change their little minds…..
