It took 60 minutes of football, but a Ben Sauls’ 47-yard field goal with four seconds left on the clock gave Pitt a 37-35 win over No. 18 UCLA Friday afternoon.
Nick Patti’s heroics, Rodney Hammond Jr.’s continued emergence and a stifling second half defensive performance allowed Pitt to overcome some shaky plays to emerge as 2022 Sun Bowl champions.
Pitt, against the odds, capped the 2022 season with a five-game win streak — finishing the season with a 9-4 record.
It’s a shame that the PSU cultists haven’t enjoyed a victory like that in decades, But then again, they have been too busy defending Jerry and Joe. That must be a horrible existence. H2P
Who?
Who cares about psu
Congratulations to the true Pitt men who chose not to opt out of bowl games. True Pitt men are teammates. They don’t opt out.
Did Chip Kelly hightail it outta there and not shake hands after the game?
#lilbitch
no, they connected to shake a little later than the camera shots made ME think too
Shame on PN for not having Patti as the starting QB, everyone could see that Slovis was a bust, not a mobile QB !!!
Remember Patti suffered a high ankle sprain in the Tennessee game and wasn’t available for weeks. Slovis did lead the team to an undefeated November.
Awesome win to finish it out, great day for Pitt in general. Hats off to all who didn’t opt out. Idk how badly injured patti was after Tennessee but he definitely added a dimension that Slovis did not have. Way to go out a winner.
Where is the moronic “On Campus Stadium Please” hiding????? You cowardly troll!!!!
Greatest Pitt day in my 50+year memory of being a Panther. Hail to Pitt.
I don’t think the title of your article matches the content lol. Just kidding, mainly because I had some doubts after reading the article.
