On Monday, the honors continued to roll in for Pitt guard Jamarius Burton after his 31-point performance against North Carolina.
The 6-foot-4 guard was named ACC Co-Player of the Week for his 31-point, six-rebound effort in the win over the Heels. Burton hit 14 of his 17 field goals in the game, headlined by numerous clutch buckets in the final minutes of the comeback win.
Burton is averaging more than 15 points, five rebounds, and four assists per game this season in his best year stat-wise of his five-year college hoops career.
This is the second-straight week that a Pitt Panther has been given the weekly honor, as Blake Hinson earned ACC Co Player of the Week last week. This marks the first time that two different Pitt players have won ACC Player of the Week honors in the same season. The last time Pitt saw two of its players win conference player of the week in the same season was in 2004, when Chevron Troutman and Carl Krauser won the Big East’s weekly honors.
Well deserved JB. Much more to come …. H2P!
