The family of Damar Hamlin issued a statement today thanking all of the people around the sporting world for the love and support Hamlin has received since suffering a cardiac arrest at Paycor Stadium Monday night.
All 32 NFL teams have changed their profile pictures to ‘Pray for Damar’ graphics, NFL fans have helped raise nearly $5 million for his Chasing M’s Foundation toy drive fundraiser and countless athletes, college and professional teams and fans have expressed their love and support for Hamlin.
Bills Mafia, the die-hard fans of the Bills, have been known for supporting the players of opposing teams, and the response in rallying around Hamlin has been just as great.
Jill Kelly, the wife of former Bills quarterback and NFL legend Jim Kelly, helped organize a vigil for Hamlin and his family outside Highmark Stadium Tuesday, NFL Network’s Mike Giardi reported.
The Bills tweeted earlier today that Hamlin spent the night in the intensive care unit at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he will stay Tuesday, and he remains in critical condition.
