Pitt Basketball Honors Damar Hamlin, Fallen UVA Football Players in Warmups

Ahead of Pitt’s matchup with No. 11 Virginia on Tuesday night, the Panthers paid tribute to the three Virginia football players who were killed this year — Lavel Davis, Devin Chandler, and D’Sean Perry — as well as former Pitt defensive back Damar Hamlin, who is currently in critical condition after going into cardiac arrest during his Monday Night Football game yesterday for the Bills.

Pitt first came out to warm up for the big game wearing Hamlin’s brand shirts that read “Chasing Millions.”

On Monday night, Hamlin collapsed during his Monday Night Football game and went into cardiac arrest after tackling Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tee Higgins. Hamlin was hospitalized shortly after the injury and remains in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The Panthers then came back out of the locker room wearing shirts that read “Pitt Stands with UVA” with the numbers of the three players that were killed below the writing.

Pitt tips off against No. 11 Virginia at 9 p.m. on ACC Network.
