Brandin Cummings, a guard out of the Class of 2024, announced his commitment to Pitt Wednesday morning on Twitter.

Brandin Cummings, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 170 pounds, plays basketball for Lincoln Park in Midland, Pa. up in Beaver County. He is a three-star guard, according to 247 Sports, and is listed as the seventh best player in Pennsylvania in his class.

He is also the brother of current graduate guard Nelly Cummings, who also played for Lincoln Park, transferred to Pitt this offseason and is now starting for them.

Brandin Cummings is the first commitment of Panthers head coach Jeff Capel’s class of 2024. He held offers from Duquesne,  Creighton, South Carolina, Bryant and Youngstown State.

He and other Pitt recruits watched the team upset No. 25 North Carolina in a 76-74 thriller last Friday, Dec. 30 at the Petersen Events Center. His friend Meleek Thomas, who also plays for Lincoln Park, and Imani Christian’s Alier Maluk are two local recruits watched the impressive Pitt win.

Pitt also defeated No. 11 Virginia, 68-65, Tuesday night at the Petersen Events Center, improving their record to 4-0 in ACC play. With great performances recently, recruits are starting to take notice in the program and will continue to do so going forward if Pitt keeps it up.
