Hudson Primus joined the Pitt football team as a fall walk-on before the 2019 season, and after four seasons as a reserve in Pittsburgh, he’s decided to move on.
Primus, a 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back originally from Archbishop Carroll in Washington D.C., entered the transfer portal Thursday afternoon.
It’s been a blessing to play at the University of Pittsburgh for the past 4 years. I want to thank God, Coach Narduzzi, Coach Sanders, the rest of the staff, and most importantly my teammates for helping me develop as a player and a person. After prayer and discussion with my family, I have decided to enter the transfer portal as a grad transfer with two seasons of eligibility remaining.”
Pitt doesn’t credit Primus with any stats during his time at Pitt, but he is a distinguished student in the classroom. Sports Reference credits him with a tackle in 2021.
Primus was one of the three Pitt players who hitched a ride with UTEP men’s basketball coach Joe Golding on the way to the Sun Bowl following flight cancelations.
Pitt is also losing starting safeties Brandon Hill and Erick Hallett to the NFL.
