Pitt Postgame Show: How Did Pitt Let Game Get Away at Duke?

Published

on

It was a tale of two halves for Pitt, eventually losing to Duke 77-69.

Mike Asti and George Michalowski talk what changed from the first to the second half, if this feels like one Pitt let get away and the current vibe around the Panthers. Can any of this game be blamed on the refs? They also then debate if the upcoming easier stretch in the schedule are “must win” games for Pitt.

No one is saying what’s wrong with Hughley and even though there is a lot of season left, I wonder if it would be a consideration to redshirt him (if possible). It would be bad to play him at less than full strength. It’s such bad luck to have this happen this year with so much of the core leaving after the season.

I think Nelly’s game is being hurt by JB’s playmaking emergence and so much of his iso stuff. There are a significant number of plays that Nelly doesn’t bring the ball up the court and/or may not even touch it during the possession. That’s got to be tough for a true PG. This may sound crazy but if you are going to have JB be the primary PG and playmaker … why not start Nike instead of Nelly. He brings different things to the table. Thoughts ?

I don’t think the title of your article matches the content lol. Just kidding, mainly because I had some doubts after reading the article.
