Coleman played for St. Frances Academy in Hyattsvile, Md. in 2022 after transferring from rival powerhouse DeMatha Catholic. Ā  He helped St. Frances finish with a 9-1 record in 2022, with the sole loss coming to powerhouse IMG Academy and also earned Second Team All-American honors from MaxPreps.

247sports lists Coleman as 6-foot tall and at 210 pounds. The site ranks him as the No. 41 linebacker in the country and the No. 16 player in the state of Maryland in his class. Rivals ranks Coleman as the 16th best linebacker in the country and the 15th best player in Maryland in the Class of 2024.

Alongside Pitt, Coleman put seven other Power 5 schools that he is still looking at. This includes two ACC schools in Louisville and Florida State, two Big 12 schools in Cincinnati and Kansas, two SEC schools in Ole Miss and Tennessee and one Big Ten school in Maryland. The two other schools to make his top 10 are Charlotte out of the American Conference and Coastal Carolina in the Sun Belt conference.

There are eight schools that offered Coleman that did not make his top ten. This includes two ACC schools in Boston College and Georgia Tech, two MAC schools in Toledo and Akron, USF out of the American conference, Marshall out of the Sun Belt, an Independent school in UMass and an FCS school in Alabama State.

Pitt offered Coleman in October 2022 and him placing them in his top ten schools provides encouragement for the staff going forward in the recruiting process.

The Panthers current class of 2024 includes three players currently. Wide receiver Ric’Darious Farmer and defensive lineman Jahsear Whittington are two four-stars, while unranked running back Juelz Goff committed this past Saturday, Jan. 21.Ā
