Selection Sunday is officially 50 days away as teams look to pad their resume in hopes of making the cut for the field of 68.
NCAA.com reporter Andy Katz released his latest bracketology projection, pacing the Panthers as a No. 11 seed and ranked 43rd overall. Pitt would play No. 6 Indiana in the South region.
Pitt (13-7, 6-3 ACC) lost 71-64 Saturday afternoon, in upset fashion, hosting Florida State. The next three games will be critical for the Panthers’ tournament chances, hosting Wake Forest (14-6, 6-3 ACC) and Miami (15-4, 6-3 ACC) before facing North Carolina (14-6, 6-3 ACC) in Chapel Hill.
The Panthers are deadlocked in a five-way tie for third place with Wake Forest, Miami, UNC, and Syracuse (13-7, 6-3 ACC) while trailing behind Clemson (16-4, 8-1 ACC) and Virginia (15-3, 7-2 ACC).
Katz projected the ACC to have seven representatives in March Madness: Virginia, Miami, Duke, North Carolina, NC State, Clemson, and Pitt – the Panthers being the last conference team. The Big Ten leads the way with 10 potential bids.
I’ll be shocked if this team gets in.
If they lose the next 3 games, they probably won’t. Capel needs to get a little more creative in both his offensive and defensive sets. Pitt is way too predictable on both sides of the court.
All these projections are just a waste of time…until we get much later in the year.
Don’t these clowns like Katz have anything better to do. The projected matchups are even more ludicrous. Enough already !
