The 2023 football season is still about seven months away, but the schedule is now set. So, let’s take a look at who Pitt is playing and when all these games are scheduled.
Pitt will be at home to kick off its season against Wofford on Sept. 2, will use Week 6 as its bye week and conclude the season against Duke on Nov. 25.
Pitt’s non-conference schedule kicks off with a program-first matchup against Wofford before hosting Cincinnati and traveling to West Virginia — a new Big 12 gauntlet.
The final non-conference game will not take place until November when Pitt will travel to South Bend, Indiana to take on Notre Dame.
Pitt opens ACC play at home against North Carolina, playing a rare weekend game against the Tar Heels, and will then travel to Lane Stadium in Blacksburg to play Virginia Tech.
After a Week 6 bye, Pitt resumes play at home against Louisville before hitting the road to play Wake Forest and Notre Dame in back-to-back weeks. It doesn’t get any easier at Pitt returns home to host Florida State either.
Pitt ends the season with Syracuse (at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, no less), Boston College (on a Thursday) and Duke.

At least it isn’t so front loaded next. Kinda disappointed there’s no Miami on the slate after we hammered them this year.
Despite last year’s positive outcome, Miami still has a lot of talented athletes and they’re a dangerous team if they figure things out. I’m good with a year off from the Hurricanes.
Cincy and WVU will be two physical games, which means Pitt will likely have to dip into their depth for the conference opener vs. UNC.
Check national champion, Georgia’s non-conference schedule. Scott Barnes saddled Pitt with a stupid non-conference schedule to compete with the Steelers.
I saw Georgia’s 1st 3 OOC opponents and that’s more appropriate for a team entering 1-A football than a back-to-back national champion.
A tough schedule for a tough team.
Woofart? Do better.
Seriously? Check almost any other school and you will find multiple “Woofarts” on their schedule. Pitt’s OOC schedule has got to be one of the most challenging in the country.
Super non conference games. The opposite of the Penn State non conference schedule which is always features cup cake clowns at home so that these weirdo fans can get a free Franklin bobblehead and walk through puddles of vomit. H2P
haha…even the shi*t schedule gets spun into Penn State talk/jealousy. I love it..
4 wins on this schedule.
h2p!
Ice Cream U surpassed Miami as the most disliked school in the country.
You’re meaning Ped State’s crap schedule I presume. Cause they always or most always schedule at least 3 rent-a-wins. Plus the usual BigJoke cupcakes of Buttgers, Maryland, Indiana plus a Illinois or Minnesota or Neb. thrown in
Very true. There are only three quality teams in the Big 10. In Franklins tenure PSU is 2-8 against Ohio State and 3-7 against Michigan and Michigan State.
Brutal non-con. Ohio State or Michigan or Ped State would never schedule it.
They would have 3 cupcakes each.
If you can get to the last 3 games of the year with 2 or 3 losses & then sweep the final 3….then that would be pretty good, considering all the player losses.
It’s all true, and their pathetic alum and fans are able to look in the mirror – how so very sad.
