On Tuesday, just hours after Finnish prospect Morris Ogusuk received an offer from Pitt, another prospect from Helsinki, Finland also received a special call from the Pitt staff.
Okku Federiko, the 6-foot-9 younger brother of current Pitt starting big man Federiko Federiko, received an offer from the Panthers.
“It means a lot,” Okku told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “Now, I have chance to maybe share the basketball court with my brother.”
His older brother, Federiko, is averaging more than five points and five rebounds per game in a starting role for Pitt this season. He is coming off a eight-point, seven-rebound showing in a crucial win over No. 20 Miami. Once Federiko heard about the offer for his younger brother, he took to Twitter to relay his excitement.
“Imagine two Federiko’s at Pitt?” Go show my little brother some love Pittsburgh.”
Federiko is a 6-foot-10 forward out of Finland who plays for Omnia Basketball Academy. He is currently a junior in the 2024 class, and holds offers from South Carolina, Syracuse, and Pitt.
