Die-Hards: A Look at Pitt Football’s Current Scholarship Situation

Pitt’s spring practice doesn’t kick off for a little under a month now, but the roster is beginning to take shape.

There will be further movement, likely in and out, once the transfer portal opens up again in the spring, but the core of the roster for the 2023 season is in place. All of the seniors who needed to make decisions now have.

It’s an offense and defense that will look very different than the 2022 versions, but there’s room to supplement the roster via the transfer portal after spring practices — as Pitt did last offseason.

It’s a roster that will need to replace some key contributors, on both sides of the ball, but there are new arrivals brought in to fill those holes and young players who have been waiting for a chance.
