Pitt Makes the Cut for 2024 3-Star Joshua Clarke’s Top 12

Pitt is still fairly new in the chase for 2024 three-star athlete Joshua Clarke, but that early relationship has allowed Pitt to make Clarke’s most recent cut of finalists.

Clarke, a 6-foot-1, 170-pounder from Flint Hill School in Alexandria, Virginia, cut down a list of nearly 40 offers to just 12: Pitt, West Virginia, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Maryland, William & Mary, Michigan State and Virginia.

Andre Powell and Pitt extended an offer on Feb. 9, following a visit to Pittsburgh. Clarke has been active in his unofficial visits, notably in Virginia, where he has visited Virginia Tech, James Madison, and Virginia. It appears that Virginia Tech is the early leader for his services.

Clarke is a two-way star at Flint Hill, but the rangy athlete appears to be destined for the defensive side of the football at the next level — flashing ball-hawking skills.

247Sports hasn’t yet rated Clarke, but On3 rates him as the 700th-ranked recruit in the class (62nd-ranked athlete and 16th-ranked recruit from Virginia) while Rivals rates him as the 17th-ranked recruit from Virginia.

It will be important to get Clarke on campus in the spring and over the summer if a relationship between himself and Pitt is to progress ahead of his eventual commitment.

Pitt does not currently have a defensive back commitment in the class of 2024.
