Jeff Capel’s team currently is a top the ACC standings with a record of 14-4 and controls their own destiny in terms of winning the conference championship.
If Pitt beats Notre Dame on Wednesday, they’ll win at least a share of the ACC regular season championship and if they beat Miami, they’ll be sole champions for the first time in program history.
Despite this success, the Panthers aren’t having much luck impressing the national basketball writers in terms of being ranked and also, they’re still a consensus No. 8 thru No. 10 seed in all of the national March Madness Bracketology.

No. All it does is give WVU more attention in the metro Pittsburgh media market. When there were more kids from each state on the respective teams it meant something. Now, not nearly as much. Not being in the same league pretty much killed the brawl.
First place in the ACC deserves at least a 5 seed! Time will tell in the next 2 weeks.

It’s not the selection committee, the problem is ESPN and bracketology. Feed the media hype. Invite all FBS schools. Schools could play a maximum of three more games.
