Earlier this week, the Duquesne basketball staff extended an offer to Elijah Strong, a 6-foot-8 forward in the class of 2023.

Strong is a 6-foot-8, 245-pound power forward who plays for Myers Park High School and Team Curry in North Carolina. From Charlotte, he is ranked as the No. 62 power forward in the country and the No. 9 player in North Carolina, per 247 Sports.

“Coach Thomas offered me,” Strong told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “The offer means a lot. It’s a great program that is willing to take a chance on me.”

Strong has picked up offers from Samford, Duquesne, Saint Bonaventure, and George Mason all within the past week. He also holds offers from Abilene Christian, Florida Atlantic, UNCW, USF, NC A&T, Campbell, Appalachian State, and others. After committing to Wofford in September 2022, Strong reopened his recruitment in late January 2023. At the time, the senior was averaging 15 points and five rebounds per game, according to his coach.

Strong told PSN that at the moment, he is focused on finishing out his high-school season and has not scheduled any visits. However, the senior said that he does plan on taking some after his season.
