Pitt Associate HC Milan Brown Wins Bob Bradley Spirit and Courage Award.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — On Wednesday, the ACC announced that Pitt associate head coach Milan Brown had won this year’s Bob Bradley Spirit and Courage Award.

The award was given to Brown by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association and the ACC.

Brown suffered cardiac arrest back in May 2022 while inside the Petersen Events Center. After losing consciousness, Brown was assisted by several Pitt employees, including associate AD Amy Anderson, Pitt women’s basketball associate head coach Terri Mitchell, and an employee that was setting up for a concert in the arena.

After receiving CPR and having his heart shocked back into rhythm by a defibrillator, Brown spent six days in a local hospital and recovered. He made a full recovery, and has been coaching full time since this past summer.

Brown and the Panthers are in Greensboro, North Carolina for this year’s ACC Tournament. They open up tournament play at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday with a second-round matchup against Georgia Tech.
