Pitt football.

Not to be lost in the midst of Pitt’s first NCAA Tournament game since 2016, and yes, the play-in game counts as a tournament game, spring ball kicks off early Tuesday morning.

The offense may be going through a rejuvenation, but it’s the defense that needs to supplement from within. There are multiple NFL draft picks that will not be around next season, likely across all three levels of the defense.

If the draft goes well, there will be four 2022 starters in the NFL. That’s significant.

But if there’s any sort of philosophy when it comes to the defense, it’s that the Panthers don’t rebuild, they reload. Especially along the defensive line, where Charlie Partridge is able to work his magic.

There’s a lot young talent to be excited about entering the 2023 season, and the spring session will be the first look at who’s grown and where.
