A recent visitor to Pitt picked up an offer from the Panthers.

Over the weekend, 2024 tight end Eric Ingwerson traveled to Pittsburgh from Papillion, Nebraska and left with his first Power 5 offer. Papillion (6-foot-7, 240 pounds) holds other offers from Northern Iowa and Northern Illinois.

“Coach Narduzzi offered me himself. My dad was there with me and it was a great feeling getting my first Power Five offer,” said Ingwerson. “We were really excited and thankful for Coach Narduzzi for believing in me.

“It was my first time in Pittsburgh and I loved the beautiful city. Everyone says it’s a football town, driving through the bridge we saw the stadium on our left followed by all the beautiful buildings. Talking with the coaches made me feel like I was wanted.”

Although Pitt was the first to officially offer him a scholarship, Ingwerson says that he’s currently hearing a lot from Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa and Iowa State.

Pitt obviously made a favorable first impression on Ingwerson and down the road when it’s time to make his decision, I asked him the possible importance of Pitt being the first major program to offer him?

“Being first is great, but I’m a relationship person and feeling wanted and at home is a big thing for me,” said Ingwerson.

At this time, Ingwerson has no timetable to make a decision.
