Pitt has risen up the team rankings for the Class of 2024, as they have received four commitments over the past week.

Three-star tight end Eric Ingwesron out of Papillion-La Vista High School in Papillion, Neb. committed last Tuesday, March 21. Jiavani Cooley, a three-star offensive lineman out of Cathedral Prep in Erie, Pa. committed on Saturday, March 25 after the first scrimmage of the Spring season for the Panthers. Defensive lineman Zachary Crothers from Chaminade Madonna Prep in Hollywood Fla., and three-star defensive back Tayshawn Banks out Taft High School in Cincinnati, Ohio both committed on Monday to round it all out.

Those recent commitments have propelled Pitt into No. 13 in the team rankings for the Class of 2024 according to Rivals.

In the ACC, Pitt has the fourth highest ranking. Florida State at No. 4, Clemson at No. 7 and surprisingly, Wake Forest at No. 9 are ahead of Pitt so far.

Pitt is also ahead of rivals in Penn State, who are at No. 16, and West Virginia, who are No. 62 in the country. Cincinnati, with whom Pitt is reigniting the River City Rivalry with this season, doesn’t have any recruits and are not ranked. Pitt also ranks higher than ACC rival Syracuse, at No. 68 and is only behind long-standing opponent Notre Dame, who are always near the top and currently ranked No. 3 in the nation.

The Panthers still have three weeks of Spring Practice and will continue to attract recruits who are interested in the program. With the team finishing the last two seasons in the top 25 since 1982-83 and a strong coaching staff, it isn’t surprising to see so many commits this early in the cycle.
