Pitt football’s historic month of recruiting continued Tuesday when 3-star offensive tackle Adham Abouraya revealed he’s becoming a Pitt Panther.

Abouraya is a 6’5″, 280-pound offensive tackle from Downington East High School in Exton, Pennsylvania. Abouraya was recruited to Pitt by both Cory Sanders and Dave Borbely and decided on Pitt over other offers from Maryland, Syracuse, Rutgers, West Virginia, Temple and Bowling Green.

Abouraya becomes the 10th member of Pitt’s Class of 2024 and the second offensive lineman. Interestingly, Pitt hadn’t received a commitment from a Pennsylvania offensive lineman since 2018 and now have received two this week, the first being Jiavani Cooley from Erie.

This news doesn’t come as a surprise because Abouraya has long been considered a heavy lean towards Pitt and today that was made official.

“From the beginning, really since I attended a game last year I feel in love with them,” Abouraya tells PSN. “I honestly feel in love with everything about the program. Then when I went to Junior Day in January, I was talking to my dad and wanted to commit that day, but he didn’t want me to make a decision that quick. He wanted me to think about it more before making such a big decision. My dad didn’t want me to make a decision that I could possibly change. But really, I’ve wanted to and have been thinking about committing to Pitt since then.”

“Two things really led me to this decision. The first thing is, when I went to their game and I was in the locker room afterwards, it just reminded me of my team and our locker room back home. The vibe, the interaction, the togetherness, everything felt similar. The second thing is, watching Coach Borbs coach at practice, I loved it. Once again, it reminded me of my team. Pitt just felt like the right decision, it really felt natural.”

Prior to making his announcement, Abouraya has been keeping track of the tear Pitt’s been on in terms of reeling in recruits this month. He’s following the buzz on Twitter and decided to add his name to the excitement.

“It’s been so exciting to see,” said Abouraya. “I’ve been watching my Twitter and keeping an eye on everyone that’s committed. I’m so excited to be No. 10. Actually, I was talking to Coach Sanders before I committed, and he told me ‘We have nine commitments right now, hopefully you can be the 10th. I responded back, Coach, you have No. 10 right now.”

With this 10th commitment, Pitt moved up a few spots in the Rivals 2024 Team Recruiting Rankings, as the Panthers now rank No. 9.
