The continued growth of Pitt’s Class of 2024 has been the talk of town over the last week, as Pat Narduzzi’s program now has 10 verbal commitments.

Back in April of 2022, Philadelphia 4-star defensive tackle Jahsear Whittington became the first player to commit to Pitt’s Class of 2024. As we stand today, Whittington, along with 4-star wide receiver Ric’Darious Farmer remain the headliners of this talented group of players.

Although, he’s caused some trepidation amongst the fanbase because of attention he continues to receive from other major Power Five programs, Whittington has been the unquestioned leader of this Class of 2024, as he’s been a steady supporter of Pitt on Twitter and also has served as a recruiter, trying steer players to Pitt.

Whittington will have a chance to do more of that tomorrow, along with continuing to bond with his future coaches and teammates.

Pittsburgh Sports Now is told that Whittington will be at Pitt tomorrow for an unofficial visit and will attend Pitt’s Thursday morning spring practice.

Whittington (6’2″, 255-pounds) is rated by Rivals.com as one of the Top 15 junior defensive tackles in the country. Prior to committing to Pitt, he held offers from Penn State, West Virginia, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Nebraska, Michigan, Syracuse, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech and Boston College.
