Earlier this week, Pitt signee Jaland Lowe was named the Guy V. Lewis Award Recipient, given to the Greater Houston Area Boys Basketball Player of the Year.
Lowe averaged 27 points per game this season for Fort Bend Marshall (TX) in his senior campaign. He led the team to a state runner-up finish and surpassed the 2,000-point milestone in his career this year as well.
Lowe is a 6-foot-1 guard ranked as a four star by 247 Sports. The Houston product will join Pitt’s back court along with fellow freshman Carlton Carrington and redshirt freshman Dior Johnson this season.
Lowe’s senior season included a massive 33-point outburst in front of Jeff Capel while Pitt had some time off in its season.
