Robert Morris Transfer Guard Enoch Cheeks Commits to Dayton

Two weeks after entering the transfer portal on March 17, former Robert Morris guard Enoch Cheeks has found a new home. The 6-foot-3, Providence, Rhode Island native has officially transferred to Dayton, according to David Jablonski of the Dayton Daily News. Cheeks later confirmed the news on Twitter.

Cheeks played three seasons for the Colonials from 2020-23, starting 67 of the 78 games he appeared in. He averaged 10.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists for head coach Andy Toole and played his best basketball this past year. Cheeks totaled 15.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in a team-high 33.4 minutes spanning 31 games (all starts).

He became the fourth Colonial to enter the transfer portal, following Michael Green III, Matt Mayers, and Tristian Jeffries. Cheeks shot 45% from the field, 36% behind the arc, and 79% at the free-throw line as a one-two punch with graduate forward Kahliel Spear.

Toole will need to replace Cheeks, Green III, and Spear – RMU’s three best players – after defeating IUPUI in the first round of the Horizon League Tournament and falling to Cleveland State in the final moments after holding the lead for the majority of play. RMU finished the season 16-17 overall and 10-10 in conference action.
