Penn State is making its latest mark on the recruiting trail as Class of 2024 four-star athlete Quinton Martin out of Belle Vernon High School in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania has committed to Penn State on Friday evening.

Martin chose Penn State over Florida State, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, and Pitt among other schools.

Martin (6-foot-2, 200 pounds) is the number one player in Pennsylvania, the number three athlete, and the No. 30 athlete nationally according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

His position in college will be discussed as he plays both running back and defensive back for Belle Vernon, but with Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen in the fold at least for the next two years then he is expected to play safety, but his versatility to play both sides of the ball can make him a contributor on special teams. He is a bigger-frame athlete that has the frame to get bigger when he gets to Penn State.

On offense, Martin rushed for 1,279 yards and 22 yards while catching 28 catches for 424 yards and six touchdowns on offense. On defense, Martin recorded 22 tackles, four interceptions, and a pick-six in 2022.

He is also a multi-sport athlete that stars at basketball for Belle Vernon, averaging 19 points and 9.6 rebounds in his sophomore season.

Penn State now has its highest-rated recruit in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

Any update on how much NIL $$$ he was offered?
That seems to be a major factor now with getting the top recruits and should be discussed not avoided by everyone.

It hurts to see this. When will Pitt be able to land at least the top in-State recruits — especially if they’re from Western PA?? The Pitt FB program is finally heading in the right direction but it sure seems to be happening in slow-motion…
