After making a recent visit to Pitt and receiving an offer from the Panthers, defensive lineman Emmett Laws told PSN “that offer means the world to me. Man, Pitt is D-Line University.”

So, it’s not a surprise that Laws has placed Pitt in his Top 5 list of schools.

Laws is a 2024 three-star defensive tackle from DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. Along with Pitt, the 6-foot-2, 265-pound defensive lineman listed Penn State, Maryland, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech.

Laws told PSN that his visit to Pitt was outstanding and he was impressed with his tour of Pitt’s facilities along with the opportunity to sit in on a defensive line meeting with Partridge.

“I got the chance to talk with Coach Partridge one-on-one, and I just felt how genuine he was and how good of a person and a coach he is. In our conversation, he even taught me something new that I will be able to use. I didn’t even know that you can reach as a defensive tackle. I learned something new.”

Pitt has already received committed from 4 defensive lineman in their Class of 2024: 4-star DT Jahsear Whittington, 3-star DE Ty Yuhas, 3-star DT Francis Brewu and 3-star DE Zachary Crothers.
