Tiquan Underwood has added another player to his wide receiver group for the 2023 season.
On Wednesday, Thaddeus Shaw announced that he accepted Pitt’s opportunity to join the program as a preferred walk-on. Shaw, who’s from York, Pennsylvania, was extended this offer from Pitt back on February 17. Shaw (6-3, 190lbs.) is high school teammates with Pitt 2024 RB commit Juelz Goff at Central York.
“I would first like to thank my family, friends, coaches, and everyone else that stuck with me throughout the tough times and continued to believe in me invest in my future. I wouldn’t be where I am without them. With that being said I am proud to announce I am committed to the University of Pittsburgh.”
After making his decision public, Shaw talked to PSN about the reason he accepted Pitt’s offer and the type of player that he can be with the Panthers.
“Firstly, I missed three years of high school football due to injury,” said Shaw. “I’m choosing to go to Pitt because I have a lot to prove and want to show that I can contribute at a high level. I have a lot of room to grow and improve and I think Pitt is getting one of the hardest workers they’ll ever see.”
Shaw also had a PWO opportunity from Temple and Delaware State University.
