The Pitt Panthers are hosting one of the top cornerbacks in the Class of 2024.
A source tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that elite 4-star cornerback Aaron Scott, Jr. is at Pitt today for an unofficial visit.
On Sunday, Scott (Springfield, Ohio) cut down his long list of offers to a Top 12 and it included Pitt. Along with the Panthers, Scott listed Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Oregon, Penn State, Florida State, Louisville, Tennessee, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Notre Dame.
Rivals.com rates Scott as a 5.8 recruit, while 247 Sports.com lists him as the No. 1 junior prospect in Ohio, the No. 4 cornerback prospect in the country and one of the Top 30 overall players in the Class of 2024.
Archie Collins and Pitt have been in on Scott for a long as they were the 5th Power Five program to offer him a scholarship, which took place back in January of 2022.
While they have Scott on campus today, the Pitt staff will no doubt remind him of their recent success of placing defensive backs in the NFL, with Damar Hamlin (Bills), Dane Jackson (Bills), Jordan Whitehead (NY Jets), Jason Pinnock (NY Giants) and Damarri Mathis (Broncos).
