PITTSBURGH – Former Robert Morris guard Michael Green III has committed to James Madison for his final season of eligibility. Green III announced his decision late Thursday night.

Transferring to RMU after two seasons with former NEC foe Bryant, Green III played a substantial part in the program’s second and third years in the Horizon League. He started 24 of 29 games for the Colonials during the 2021-22 campaign and averaged 10.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game in over 31 minutes. The 5-foot-11 Bronx, N.Y. native became the Colonialsโ€™ sixth man the past year and only started in three of his 31 appearances. The senior guard achieved 9.0 points and 4.2 assists per contest for head coach Andy Toole.ย

He shot 41.5% from the floor at RMU and substantially improved his three-point abilities from two years ago. Green III totaled a 36% clip from deep – up 5.3% from the previous season – and sunk the game-winning triple hosting IUPUI in the Horizon League Tournament.

Green III also surpassed 1,000 career points in his collegiate career as a Colonial and totaled 580 points in an RMU uniform. James Madison finished 22-11 overall, 12-6 in Sun Belt Conference play, and fell to South Alabama in the conference semifinals (75-66) to close the 2022-23 season.ย
