Pitt continues its search for a veteran wide receiver to add to their roster and the latest is a player they’re already familiar with.

Former three-star wide receiver Marcus Peterson from the class of 2022 told Pittsburgh Sports Now that the Pitt coaching staff has been in touch with him. Peterson recently made the decision to leave Cincinnati and enter the transfer portal.

Peterson is from Columbia High School in Lake City, Florida and coming out of high school, the two sides had a mutual interest.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound wideout took an official visit to Pitt in 2021 and had the Panthers in his final three along with Cincinnati and Central Florida. Along with those schools, Peterson held more than 30 offers, including ones from Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Since entering the portal, Peterson has announced that he’ll be taking an official visit to Colorado.

When asked about possibly coming to visit Pitt, Peterson told PSN, “I took an official visit in high school and loved the visit. I would come back.”

Peterson said that he would have four seasons of athletic eligibility remaining.
