Darius Acuff shined this past weekend in front of college coaches from all over the country who watched him play at EYBL Session One in Atlanta.
Acuff, a 6-foot-1 point guard out of Detroit, Michigan, earned several high major offers following his stellar performance, including one from Pitt head coach Jeff Capel.
The cousin of former Duquesne guard Tyson Acuff, Darius officially exploded onto the scene this past weekend — earning offers from Michigan, Pitt, Kentucky, and Nebraska in the past few days. In February, the Cass Tech product took home the Mr. PSL award for top player in his Detroit-based high school league — the same league that former Pitt guard Greg Elliott competed in years ago.
This past season, Acuff led Cass Tech to a 27-1 record and the program’s first Division One State Title. He averaged 21.4 points and 5.7 assists per game, earning recognition from all over the state and being named the MaxPreps Michigan Player of the Year.
Pitt has also offered class-of-2025 prospects Meleek Thomas, Alier Maluk, Darryn Peterson, Derek Dixon, Jayden Quaintance, and RJ Greer.
