Kyshawn Robinson, Westinghouse Class of 2026 DB, received his dream offer from Penn State on Tuesday

The Pitt Panthers officially entered the race for one of the top freshmen in the state of Pennsylvania.

On Thursday, Pitt extended an offer to Westinghouse freshman athlete Kyshawn Robinson. This becomes the third D-1 offer for Robinson, who previously received ones from Nebraska and UNLV.

The Panthers once again are attempting to get in early with a talented player from the area in hopes of landing a future commitment. Over the last few years, Pat Narduzzi’s program was the first to offer players such as Quinton Martin, Anthony Speca, Dayon Hayes, Nahki Johnson, etc. Obviously, in some cases it was successful and others it wasn’t.

Pittsburgh Sports Now caught up this morning with Robinson to get his thoughts on this big offer.

“I believe my coach & Pitt’s safeties coach (Cory Sanders) have been talking for a while and I’ve been on Pitt’s radar. Coach Sanders came down and watched me practice to see what type of player and teammate I am. After practice, my coach called me over and I had a long conversation with Coach, then he offered me.”

“I feel like I’ve worked very hard for this, so when I earned it was like a dream come true. Getting an offer from my hometown school is a big accomplishment. I think Pitt is going to become a better program in the upcoming years because of the transfer portal. One thing that stands out to me about Pitt is their selection of defensive backs.”

Pitt has done a solid job of bringing in local defensive back talent to their program: Damar Hamlin (Central Catholic), Dane Jackson (Cornell), Jordan Whitehead (Central Valley), MJ Devonshire (Aliquippa), Stephon Hall (Central Valley) and Cruce Brookins (Steel Valley).
