Pitt Extends Offer To Auburn Transfer Tight End/Wide Receiver Landen King

An interesting offer was made by the Pitt Panthers.

On the same day he announced that he was transferring from Auburn, Landen King received an offer from Pitt. This was the second time since November that King announced he was transferring from Auburn. Back in November, he entered the transfer portal before withdrawing his name.

“I am officially in the transfer portal with 3 years of eligibility remaining,” King said Sunday morning on Twitter. “Thank you, Auburn, for everything!”

The interesting thing concerning this offer is that King was recruited to Auburn as a tight end before converting to wide receiver.

Last season, King had one reception for 24 yards, while in 2021, had five catches for 59 yards and a touchdown.

Considering their current depth chart and the fact that they just signed USC transfer tight end Malcolm Epps, it’s likely that Pitt is attempting to recruit King as a wide receiver.

King was a 2021 three-star recruit from Humble, Texas and signed with Auburn over other offers from Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Houston, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Ole Miss, Penn State, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech and Washington.

Along with Pitt, King has received offers today from Utah, Colorado and Louisville.
