Former Pitt guard Destiny Strother announced her transfer to Niagara in an Instagram post Wednesday night.
Strother played three seasons for the Panthers from 2020-23, where she averaged 4.5 points, 1.6 rebounds and 14.7 minutes per game in 65 games.
She transferred to Pitt following her first season with Marquette in 2019-20 and played in every game as a sophomore and junior for the program. Her best season came as a junior in 2021-22, where she played all 30 games, starting six, while averaging 5.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 18.4 minutes per game.
Strother has one final year of eligibility and will provide good experience for the Purple Eagles. She is best when she is in the corner for a 3-pointer or ready to catch-and-shoot.
Strother is the ninth and final player to transfer from Pitt, following the dismissal of head coach Lance White in early March.
The list below shows the complete list of players that found their new school in the transfer portal and those that are staying/joining next season.
