Pitt Coaching Staff Continues to Increase Recruiting Efforts in Search of Future Talent

Published

on

The Pitt recruiting staff never take a break whatsoever and have increased their work this past week in finding future talent across the country.

They offered 21 players this last week, with their efforts spread evenly between the 2024, 2025 and 2026 classes. The breakdown of the offers is four defensive backs, three offensive linemen, three wide receivers, three athletes, two quarterbacks, two defensive lineman, two tight ends, one running back and one linebacker.

Here is the list of the players below.

2024

Four-star defensive back Earl Kulp from Miami Central Senior High School in Miami, Fla.-May 4

Three-star wide receiver Triston Ward from Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Mass.-May 2

Three-star tight end Karsen Konkel from Pinckneyville Community High School in Pinckneyville, Ill.-May 5

Three-star defensive back Allen Bryant from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-May 4

Three-star offensive lineman Jake Wheelock from Stebbins High School in Dayton, Ohio-May 2 (Cincinnati commit)

Athlete Dahkari Gilley from University Christian School in Jacksonville, Fla.-May 4

Running back Bryce Davis from Brunswick School in Greenwich, Conn.-May 5

2025

Three-star linebacker Paul Nelson from Princeton High School in Cincinnati, Ohio-May 1

Athlete Jenoa Alford from University Christian School in Jacksonville, Fla.-May 4

Tight end Landon Okla from Ponte Vedra High School in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.-May 4

Wide receiver Jayvan Boggs from Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Fla.-May 3

Wide receiver Adonis Moise from Palmetto High School in Palmetto, Fla.-May 1

Athlete Emmanuel Small from Eau Gallie High School in Melbourne, Fla.-May 3

Offensive lineman Damola Adijahun from Duluth High School in Duluth, Ga.-May 3

2026

Quarterback Brady Hart from Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Fla.-May 3

Offensive lineman Tyler Merrill from Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, Pa.-May 2

Quarterback Michael Clayton II from Edgewater High School in Orlando, Fla.-May 3

Defensive lineman/offensive lineman Kattrell Webb from Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Ga.-May 6

Defensive back Ayden Pouncey from Winter Park High School in Winter Park, Fla.-May 3

Defensive back Clifton Hester from Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Fla.-May 3

Defensive lineman Amir Parker from Rockledge High School in Rockledge, Fla.-May 3

One important thing to note is the increased presence in Florida, as 12 of the 21 offers come from that state. There are seven players on the current Pitt roster that hail from Florida, including defensive backs in redshirt senior Marquis Williams and junior Phillip O’Brien Jr. and redshirt senior running back Daniel Carter.

Defensive line coach Charlie Partridge and wide receivers coach Tiquan Underwood have great ties in Florida and they will continue to recruit one of the best states in the country for football talent.

Ayden Pouncey holds a surname that Pittsburgh  Steelers fans recognize well thanks to the great center Maurkice Pouncey who played for them for 11 seasons from 2010-20. Ayden Pouncey is second cousins with Maurkice Pouncey, demonstrating the great talent embedded within the family tree.

Wheelock is the only player that Pitt offered last week that is currently committed to another school in Cincinnati. The coaching staff, particularly offensive line coach Dave Borbely would love for the 6-foot-4 interior lineman to join his unit for the 2024 season.

Kulp is a player that the Panthers reoffered last week. He is a great player out of Miami and would likely play a large role for the Panthers, potentially in his first season.

Expect to see Pitt coaches working hard on the recruiting trail and bringing in great talent for the seasons head.
