Pitt Reaches Out to High-Scoring Marshall Transfer Andrew Taylor

Just days after hosting Niagara transfer guard Noah Thomasson for an official visit, the Pitt coaching staff has reached out to another guard in the portal, this time by the name of Andrew Taylor.

Taylor is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound guard out of Corbin, Kentucky. He played four seasons for Marshall, averaging 10.1 points per game as a freshman and doubling that total by the time he was a senior. This past season, Taylor averaged 20.2 points, 4.7 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game all while shooting 42% from the field and 36% from three-point range.

A First Team All Sun Belt selection, Taylor led the league in steals per game and was one of the top three scorers in the conference. He still has the opportunity to return to Marshall out of the portal, but assuming he moves on, Taylor wraps up his Marshall career with more than 1,600 points and 550 rebounds in a Thundering Herd uniform.

With Thomasson scheduled to announce his college commitment Tuesday on The Field Of 68, Pitt’s efforts to contact a guard in the portal seem to indicate that he is headed elsewhere. Georgia is the favorite to land Thomasson, per sources.
