On Tuesday, Pitt target Noah Thomasson committed to Georgia over the Panthers, San Francisco, Penn State, St. John’s, and others.
Thomasson is a 6-foot-3 guard out of Niagara who Pitt targeted hard out of the transfer portal. He took an official visit this past week but also visited Georgia weeks prior and eventually decided to commit to the Bulldogs on Tuesday.
Thomasson picked the Bulldogs after averaging more than 19 points per game this season for Niagara and earning first team all conference honors. He was one of the top guards remaining in the portal and now, Pitt will look to fill another card spot with another portal player.
The Panthers reached out to Marshall transfer Andrew Taylor on Monday after he entered the portal. Taylor average 20 points per game for Marshall this past season an escort over 1600 points in his collegiate career.
Pitt Reaches Out to High-Scoring Marshall Transfer Andrew Taylor
Pitt has two open scholarships remaining after adding Rhode Island transfer Ishmael Leggett, and High Point transfer Zack Austin out of the portal this off-season.
Pitt’s back court will be led by redshirt freshman guard Dior Johnson, as well as Leggett, Austin, and incoming freshmen Jaland Lowe and Carlton Carrington.
Gonna miss Nike Sibande. 🙁
Interesting choice .. kind of a rebuild situation, .500 last year, 2nd yr of Coach White era. Maybe more family related vs team/conference.
Maybe its just a better NIL deal?
I’m with you on that one, but Georgia over Pitt in basketball? That’s got to be the only reason he committed there. I could see if it was Georgia football, then that’s a no brainer! Even as much as I’m a diehard Pitt fan. I’m just curious as to why even bother taking the official visit to Pitt in the first place, if he knew he was going to Georgia, must been to see how much money he’d get?
The Dawgs brought more 💰💰💰💰 then Pitt did. Next….
