On Thursday, Pitt head coach Jeff Capel called up another transfer guard that is available in the portal.

Jesse Zarzuela, a guard from Central Michigan, told PSN that he spoke with Capel on Thursday and the Pitt head coach expressed his interest.

Zarzuela is a 6-foot-3 junior guard out of Houston, Texas who scored 16 points per game this season for the Chippewas. He began his career at Coppin State prior to transferring to CMU for a year. He also spent a season playing JUCO ball for Missouri State – West Plains.

This year, Zarzuela hit 42 of his 118 three-point attempts, a 36% mark. Overall, he hit 40% of his field-goal attempts and 83% of his free-throw tries.

Zarzuela told PSN that he will “most likely” visit, and that he discussed potentially visiting with Capel on Thursday.

The Panthers have already brought in transfers Ishmael Leggett and Zack Austin this off-season. Pitt has two open scholarships remaining.
