The 7-foot freshman was a former top-60 recruit and did not play for the Wolfpack this season. According to CBS Sports insider Jon Rothstein, Miranda has heard from Villanova, Georgetown, Oklahoma State, Nevada, Kentucky, LSU, and St. John’s. Florida State has also contacted the center. Miranda now looks for a fresh start with four years of eligibility remaining at a new program.

2024 No. 36 Prospect Donnie Freeman Commits to Syracuse

A significant high school prospect in the Class of 2024 committed to the Syracuse Orange on Thursday. According to On3’s Joe Tipton, Donnie Freeman will join Adrian Autry in New York for the 2024-25 season. The No. 36 overall prospect selected the Orange instead of Iowa, Texas, Alabama, and Georgia Tech. Freeman, 6-foot-9, ranks No. 32 overall by Rivals.com and led St. John’s (DC) to a WCAC championship. Syracuse begins a new era with a fresh face manning the bench for the first time in 47 years after Jim Boeheim retired following a three-point loss in the ACC Tournament to Wake Forest.

On the final day to officially enter your name into the portal, Jalon Moore took advantage. ESPN insider Jeff Bortzello reported Thursday that Moore would go into the portal. Moore started 15 games of the 32 games played for head coach Josh Pastner before Pastner was let go in favor of Damon Stoudamire. Moore averaged 7.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while shooting 43% from the field. He scored in double figures on 13 different occasions. Georgia Tech ended the year 15-18 overall and 6-14 in ACC competition.

UNC Forward Will Shaver Commits to UAB

After decommiting from Belmont five days ago, Will Shaver has found a new landing spot. Shaver announced his decision to land at UAB on Thursday in a Twitter post.  The former North Carolina big man only played six minutes in three games for the Heels and redshirted his freshman year. Shaver, 6-foot-10, was a former three-star recruit ranked No. 142 overall and the second-best player in Alabama.

Shaver committed to Belmont on April 25th before backing out of the agreement. He begins a fresh start at UAB after UNC failed to make the NCAA Tournament.
