The Duquesne Dukes have found the big man for their 2023-24 front court that they’ve been searching for.
NC State transfer forward Dusan Mahorcic has announced that he’ll play his last season of college basketball for Keith Dambrot and the Dukes. Mahorcic made an official visit to Duquesne last week.

Mahorcic is a 6-foot-10 forward who averaged 8.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game last season for the Wolfpack. Mahorcic has spent one year each at Illinois State, Utah, and NC State so far in his collegiate career.
This past season, Mahorcic spent the majority of his senior campaign on the sidelines as he injured his knee and received surgery shortly after. Months later, he received a medical hardship waiver, which will allow him another year of eligibility to play college ball.
Duquesne has already added Andrei Savrasov, Hassan Drame, and Fousseyni Drame from the transfer portal so far this offseason.
Duquesne will now feature a front court of Mahorcic, Tre Williams (6’7″, 250-pounds), Halil Barre (6’9″, 220-pounds), David Dixon (6’9″, 215-pounds), Savrasov (6’7″, 225-pounds), H. Drame (6’7″, 200-pounds) and F. Drame (6’7″, 200-pounds).
Provided everyone is healthy, this new look frontcourt will become a strength for the Dukes and given the talent that will be returning in the backcourt, this year’s Duquesne team could be a dark horse contender in the Atlantic-10.
