On Monday, Jeff Capel landed his third four-star recruit in the 2023 high school class and his fourth overall when Papa Kante committed to the Panthers.
Pitt’s recruiting class now includes guards Jaland Lowe and Carlton Carrington, wing Marlon Barnes, and Kante (forward).

With the addition of Kante, Rivals has the Panthers’ class as the No. 22 group in the nation. On3 ranks the Panthers’ class as the No. 27 class in the country, as well as the No. 4 group in the ACC.
